Vintage Friday

Thrifting has become a hobby of mine and I can't stop. It's a hit or miss when I go, but lately I've been finding the cutest things. There are so many trends that I want to try out but unfortunately, my wallet doesn't always allow me to make these purchases. Fortunately, you don't need to spend a fortune try out trends. You just have to have a lot of patience to go through racks and racks of clothing. I browse mainstream brands like Forever21 and Zara and see what they sell to give me an idea on what trends I want to try out. I also get inspiration from Pinterest and other bloggers. A lot of people may not like the idea of second hand clothing, but it's never really bothered me. I always examine the pieces before taking them home to prevent thrifting catastrophes. I eyeball them for stains, pill balls, or any signs of damage to ensure that it's still in good shape. Most importantly, I always make sure that it's clean and odor free before I make the purchase, otherwise it's not worth the purchase.

All the pieces I purchased here looked like they were in great condition. There were even tags on some of them! Talk about a win!
Jacket: French Connection
Loved this color and have been searching for the perfect mustard jacket. This one is a heavy material so it will be perfect for winter...I live in Edmonton so winter is always just around the corner.
Blazer: Silence and Noise (Urban Outfitters)
I can never have enough blazers.
Blazer: Christian Dior
Yep, this one is my favourite purchase probably because of the color and it's Christian Dior. The thrifting gods were definetely with me the day I purchased this.
Skirt: Joseph Ribkoff
Been in search for bandage skirts as they are my favourite type of skirt to wear. They are flattering on my body type and love wearing them with blouses or crop tops! This was a little big on me but the material is made of such great quality that I don't mind just sewing it to fit me.
Denim shirt: Jcrew
Last but not least, a denim shirt. Just because this girl can never have enough denim in her life.

I enjoyed treasure hunting for these pieces and hope I inspired some of you.

Monkeying Around - Sammy Dress Clothing

Bag: c/o Sammy Dress (here) | Shoes: Ebay (JoJo Cat here) | Jeans: Zara | Top: H&M | Sweater: so old I can't remember

I am more than thrilled to announce that I had partnered up with Sammy Dress for this outfit! I was introduced to them and after browsing their site, found that I was overwhelmed with the selection  they had. As a fan of the Cambridge satchel, I gravitated to this bag because of the similar structure and bright color! The bag comes in many different colors and is durable. I was also able to pack on a lot of my daily essentials in it.

Happy Friday!

I'm With The Band

Jeans and Necklace: Zara
Jacket: Jcrew Factory (online exclusive)

This may be odd to some people, but I sometimes find myself browsing through menswear. Especially at The Gap, they have the comfiest graphic band tees at such an affordable price. I love pairing them with ripped jeans or a pencil skirt with prints. In my opinion, you can wear a graphic, grungy tee and still be able to dress it up with the right accessories and shoes.

It's still a little cold to be running errands with some cute open toe heels so I opted for some little booties this day. Adding a statement necklace and a camel colored jacket just added the right touch for a weekend outfit.

Cotton Candy Pink

Can we just talk about how perfectly the sky matched my jacket this day?

   Pants: Top Shop
   Clutch: Chapters
   Jacket and Top: Zara
   Boots: Forever21

Prints and all shades of pink, that's what I'm inspired by right now. I put the best of both worlds into one outfit. It's so fun and casual that it just became a favorite combo of mine. Usually, I say less is more, but sometimes I do like to do a bit of experimenting.

True Blue

Material Girl pants
Joe Fresh turtleneck
Jcrew necklace
Asos hat
Aldo shoes

I'm not exactly sure how colours go in and out of style but I always feel the need to own a piece that features it. Cobalt blue is one of them. It's a magical colour that suits just about everyone. This blue tone looks amazing mixed with neutrals, patterns, accents and other bright colours.

For this outfit, I used the cobalt blue as the injection of dazzle to my outfit. I wanted to slowly ease into the trend by using only an accessory in this shade. You can also try adding a cobalt blue skinny belt, shoes, or a statement necklace. What do you think of this colour? What cobalt blue pieces do you have in your closet?

Sweater Cozy

3.1 Target x Phillip Lim sweater
Joe Fresh Jeans
Zara Toque
Daily Look bag
Report boots

Sweater season! It's a love and hate relationship I must say. I love it because I can hide the fact that my diet changes during this time of the year (Not that my diet is any better in the summer). Hate, because I live in one of the coldest cities. Ever. Sweaters are not only a fashion trend, but also an absolute necessity here. In saying that, sweaters are something I don't usually mind spending a little more money than I usually would on a piece of clothing.

This sweater is from the 3.1 Target x Phillip Lim collection that just blew over recently. I missed out on a lot of the pieces but I still managed to get my hands on this sweater. On sale, I might add. I loved the classic look and the subtle gems that wrapped halfway around the neck. I didn't really capture the details in the pictures as much as I had wanted to but you either get the point or you are probably one of the ones who own it. :)

Anyway, I hope you are all having a lovely week. It's been a busy week for me but I'd still love to hear from you!

This is my entry for the IFB Project #118: Sweater Girls.

The Skort

Top: Forever21 | Shoes, Skort, and bag: Zara | Bracelet Wrap: Vendor from work

To all my Canadian friends, I hope you are all having an amazing long weekend! This weekend is the hottest day we've had all year!

I apologize for another Zara skort post that's been popping up on everyones fashion blog. I'm pretty sure that everyone and their mother owns this piece but that didn't stop me from purchasing it or blogging about it. It's so cute that I don't think anyone can do an overkill with too much exposure.

Who has this skort? If you have a leave a link to your blog featuring this skort, I would love to see how you styled it! xx
