Pencil Skirt and Crop Top

Skirt: H&M (similar here) | Crop top: H&M (want this one here) | Jacket: Jcrew | Sunglasses: Aldo | Necklace: Ardenes | Shoes: Target | Bag: Aldo

The pencil skirt and crop top combo has been a favourite of mine and I am so happy I can finally start sporting the look now that the weather is permitting. From runways to red carpets, this combo has been a featured trend in style. If you're short like me, this will be your go-to because It gives the illusion of elongated legs. The modest knee length pencil skirt also balances out the flash of skin on the upper half of the body. Dressed up or down, this combo works for everyone.

Fresh Start

Shoes: Steve Madden | Pants: Target | Bag: Jcrew | Sweater: H&M

Goodbye 2013, hello 2014! There are so many things to look forward to this year and hope to share some of them with you. I am also so thankful for all the blessings that came my way last year and all the wonderful people I met through blogging. 2013 was also a challenging year for me, but what's life without them? I learned a few things along the way, like letting go, moving on without looking back, and remembering that there it's impossible to please everyone. If you know me personally, you know that I try to control every aspect of my life. I stress about things that shouldn't matter and have lost countless nights of sleep because of it. Things are going to change this year and there is no better feeling than a fresh new start.

Anyway, here is my first outfit of 2014 to share with you guys and I hope that you also share your resolution on the comments below!

Here is to new beginnings and hopefully more hours of sleep. :)  xx

True Blue

Material Girl pants
Joe Fresh turtleneck
Jcrew necklace
Asos hat
Aldo shoes

I'm not exactly sure how colours go in and out of style but I always feel the need to own a piece that features it. Cobalt blue is one of them. It's a magical colour that suits just about everyone. This blue tone looks amazing mixed with neutrals, patterns, accents and other bright colours.

For this outfit, I used the cobalt blue as the injection of dazzle to my outfit. I wanted to slowly ease into the trend by using only an accessory in this shade. You can also try adding a cobalt blue skinny belt, shoes, or a statement necklace. What do you think of this colour? What cobalt blue pieces do you have in your closet?

Mixed Prints Collaboration

Aldo shoes
Love Quotes scarf
Urban Outfitters skirt
Material Girl top and sweater
Jcrew necklace

This post is a little different than normal because today, I'm doing a trend collaboration with Gaeye. I met her through instagram and she approached me to start a mixed print trend collaboration. I loved the idea and straight to my closet I went.

I made sure that the prints were neutral so that they wouldn't clash. To add a bit of color to the outfit, I added the bright yellow scarf. Who says you can't wear bright colours in the winter? The gold print and the bright yellow just made sense to me too. What do you think?
To see the details of Gaeye's outfit, go visit her blog here. We didn't even plan it, but we both ended up adding a pop of colour with our mixed prints. Great minds? hehe.

Modern Day Minnie

Target skirt and top
Jcrew necklace
Forever21 boots
Asos jacket

I'm so excited to share this post because it's my first collaboration with my good friend, Denean Dale. She is one of my old friends who works as a Freelance/Special Effects Makeup Artist/ and a rising Youtube star! hehe. If the photos didn't give it away already, we decided to do a Disney Fashion Icon, Minnie Mouse!

If you want to see how the makeup was done and what she used, check out her Youtube channel @Deneandale or click here. You can also follow her on Instagram (also deneandale),where she posts other amazing makeup looks.

For the outfit, I wanted to to create her look with something that was already in my closet. The first thing that came to mind was my polka dot top with the peter pan collar. I added a black quilted skirt and boots with over the knee socks. Lastly, the famous Minnie ears because the outfit wouldn't be complete without it!

Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoyed this as much as we did creating it. We had so much fun filming this tutorial that even her puppy, Diesel, wanted to join the shoot. Till next time! xx

Vintage and Peplum Remix

Top: Forever21 | Heels: H&M | Necklace and bracelet: Jcrew | Studded bracelet: Bcbg

I am a bargain shopper so it's only natural that I scope out all of my favourite stores for end of season sales. This top is one of my favourite purchases from Forever21. This top has the perfect mix of the peplum style and vintage print. I almost forgot about how much I love shopping there. Their sale is always amazing especially since their clothes are already affordable to begin with. I know I'm not the only one who loves end of season sales. What's your favourite purchase and at which store? Leave me a comment! Xx
